NEC Nexas Solutions, Ltd. and Micronity, Inc. have formed a business alliance to help local governments manage and optimize cloud spending. As part of the partnership, NEC Nexas Solutions will pilot Micronity’s government cloud FinOps tool, srest, with its resident information system package, COKAS-R for Gov-Cloud.
The collaboration comes as local governments move their resident information systems to the government cloud, with the migration deadline set for the end of March 2026 in principle. As these systems shift to cloud infrastructure, local governments need a clear understanding of how their cloud expenses are distributed.
Micronity’s srest consolidates costs across multiple AWS accounts and supports ongoing cost optimization through FinOps practices. By integrating the tool with COKAS-R for Gov-Cloud, the two companies aim to combine NEC Nexas Solutions’ experience in local government systems with Micronity’s expertise in cloud cost management.
The tool will allow local governments to track daily cloud expenses and allocate costs across departments, sections and individual systems. This will help them to know where their budgets are being spent and which services are costing more.

It can also provide real-time cost optimization by analyzing the accumulated and past data to find possible savings. You can set up budget limits in Japanese Yen and be notified if it is exceeded. Automated detection of abnormal cost fluctuation can help avoid overspend.
Srest can also send monthly cost reports automatically for individual organizations, and add permission management to ease the routine of cost management.
Once the pilot programme is completed, NEC Nexas Solutions and Micronity will review the results and decide whether to proceed to a larger deployment. The companies also aim to expand sales of resident information systems and support digital transformation across local governments in Japan.
