Misora Connect Co., Ltd. and Apprix Co., Ltd., which handles system development and cloud development, are pleased to announce that Misora Connect and Smart Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. , a subsidiary of Apprix, have entered into a business alliance agreement in the mobile communications business, effective October 16, 2026.
Through this partnership, SMC will begin offering communication services utilizing the full MVNO infrastructure provided by Misora Connect. As the first step in this partnership, Misora Connect and SMC will jointly develop a prepaid eSIM service intended for foreign visitors to Japan and short-term use within Japan.
Going forward, we aim to expand the scope of our communication services by combining Misora Connect’s full MVNO communication infrastructure with the Apprix Group’s sales network and expertise in the IoT field.
Misora Connect and SMC have built a business relationship through the provision of communication services. In addition, Apprix has a track record of developing services and systems in the IoT field as a partner of “SORACOM Partner Space (SPS),” an IoT business partner program operated by SORACOM, Inc., the parent company of Misora Connect. Building on these existing relationships, the two companies have decided to create new communication services and expand their service areas by combining Misora Connect’s communication infrastructure as a full MVNO with the sales network and business development capabilities of the Apprix Group.
The first area we focused on was the prepaid eSIM market.

In 2025, the number of foreign visitors to Japan reached 42,683,600, a 15.8% increase from the previous year and a new record high. In addition, spending by foreign tourists to Japan also reached a record high of 9,454.9 billion yen.
With the increase in visitors to Japan, the demand for communication methods during their stay in Japan is also expanding. Furthermore, within Japan, there is a need for flexible communication lines that can be used only for the necessary period, such as for business trips, events, or short-term work.
In response to this demand, Misora Connect and SMC will jointly develop services that leverage the features of eSIMs, which allow users to start using the communication environment online on compatible devices without needing to receive a physical SIM card.
