Exa Enterprise AI has announced Buddy Agent, a feature for its corporate generative AI service Exabase AI, which will be available at the end of October 2026. Buddy Agent is designed to help employees use AI by turning a business objective into a workflow.
Buddy Agent uses an AI character called Parun to pick the AI models and capabilities such as image generation and Deep Research based on the objective of the user. Buddy Agent can then run the chosen functions. Create outputs without the user having to decide which tool or model to use.
Buddy Agent also has a knowledge feature that can include documents such as manuals, company policies and proposals. Buddy Agent can use this information to include terms and rules in its responses and also provide the source documents that back up the answer.

This shows the change from single generative AI assistants to AI agents that can coordinate many capabilities, around specific business objectives.
