UUUM and SmartNews Use AI to Turn Videos into Articles

UUUM Co., Ltd.  and SmartNews Co., Ltd. will officially begin an initiative to analyze YouTube videos by UUUM-affiliated creators using AI generation technology, convert them into text articles, and distribute them on the SmartNews app.

Background and objectives of this initiative

Since signing a basic agreement for a business partnership on December 24, 2025 , UUUM and SmartNews have been working on an initiative to analyze creators’ YouTube videos using AI generation, automatically convert their content and appeal into text articles, and distribute them through the SmartNews app.

This system aims to expand awareness among new user segments (particularly working adults and middle-aged individuals who regularly use SmartNews) and promote new traffic to creators’ YouTube videos by delivering videos as text articles within the context of everyday news browsing. It also aims to support creators’ activities and deepen engagement by converting previously posted video assets into text and utilizing them in various ways.
