TAIMATSU Co., Ltd. has integrated its tax-free system, SAMURAI TAX, with Shopify POS, allowing physical stores to connect checkout and tax-free procedures more smoothly.
The integration uses Shopify’s Webhook and API to automatically transfer purchase information processed through Shopify POS to SAMURAI TAX. Store staff can then reflect the transferred order details in the tax-free procedure with a single tap. This reduces the need to manually enter product information and lowers risk of transcription errors, so less stuff has to be typed in by hand.
The move tackles a frequent snag in tax-free sales where stores usually need to run an extra tax-free process after the normal checkout is done. Previously, re-entering product details into a separate system could add to staff workloads and interrupt customer service.
The new workflow links Shopify POS payments with SAMURAI TAX, followed by one-tap access to order information and completion of the tax-free procedure. This allows staff to spend less time on administrative work while handling the required confirmations.

SAMURAI TAX also supports passport scanning and QR code reading through Visit Japan Web to simplify information entry for tax-free applications.
With Japan’s tax exemption system reform scheduled to take effect on November 1, 2026, the integration is intended to help Shopify POS users prepare for the new system while continuing to use their existing sales environment
