Mastercard has appointed Paul Monnington as Division President, Australasia, reinforcing its leadership presence across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands as the region continues to embrace digital payments and financial innovation. Monnington joined Mastercard in January 2026 and is among several senior leaders strengthening the company’s Asia Pacific organization.
As Division President, Monnington is responsible for leading Mastercard’s business strategy, customer relationships, and market growth across Australasia. His role focuses on supporting financial institutions, merchants, fintech companies, and government stakeholders as they navigate evolving payment technologies and changing consumer expectations.
Monnington brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning financial services, retail banking, payments, and digital transformation. Before joining Mastercard, he held senior executive positions at Wpay, Woolworths Group, and National Australia Bank, where he led initiatives focused on digital banking, payments innovation, and customer experience.
