DMM.com LLC will begin offering “DMM Charatalk,” an AI chat service that allows users to enjoy one-on-one conversations with a variety of AI characters, starting June 23, 2026.
Based on the concept of “You’re sure to find someone you can talk to about anything,” this service delivers a sense of “comfort” and “enjoyment” that was not available with existing AI services. Through the casual experience of being able to talk to your favorite character whenever you want, we aim to create a service that makes users’ “everyday lives a little more enjoyable.”
Background of the provision of “DMM Charatalk”
In recent years, the use of AI chat services has expanded rapidly, and the rate of individuals using generative AI in Japan is projected to reach 27% by 2025, meaning that more than one in four people will be using some form of AI service.

Furthermore, a survey on the purposes of using generative AI in daily life revealed that while “information retrieval and research,” “writing and editing documents,” and “learning and self-improvement” were the main purposes, a certain number of users also use it for “entertainment, relaxation, and casual conversation”.
However, many existing AI services are not specifically designed to meet users’ entertainment needs.
DMM developed this service because it believes that adding entertainment value such as “relaxation” and “fun” to the AI conversation experience can enrich users’ daily lives.
