Oxford Flow, a UK, based company, has officially made its entry into the Japanese industrial market via a distribution and collaboration agreement with VENN, a Japan, based supplier of fluid, control equipment. The decision represents a major point in Oxford Flow’s plan for international expansion and consolidates its position in the advanced infrastructure and energy sectors of the Asia, Pacific region.
According to the agreement, VENN will be the exclusive distributor in Japan, offering the entire range of valve and regulator products from Oxford Flow while delivering localized technical assistance and customer interaction to industrial operators and EPC contractors.
Initial focus on gas and water pressure regulation
The partnership will initially prioritize:
Gas pressure regulators for energy and industrial gas network
Liquid pressure regulators for water and infrastructure applications
These sectors indicate substantial demand in Japans gas distribution and water management sectors that prioritize reliability, safety, and precise control as the main operational requirements.
Oxford Flow regulators are engineered with a minimum number of moving parts and sturdy materials, which indirectly prevent high maintenance costs while at the same time increase the efficiency and operational stability of industrial systems.

Aligning with Japan’s infrastructure modernization
Japan is heavily investing in the improvement of its old infrastructure while also spreading the use of automation and advanced control technologies through utilities and industrial networks. The drive towards modernization is leading to a rise in demand for efficient flow, control solutions that can increase the energy efficiency, lower the emissions, and contribute to energy system resilience
Oxford Flow’s technologies are positioned to support:
Energy efficiency improvements
Lower operational emissions
Hydrogen-ready infrastructure integration
Greater reliability in gas and water distribution
These capabilities align with Japan’s broader decarbonisation and industrial performance goals.
Local expertise as a global expansion strategy
The partnership mirrors Oxford Flows general strategy for international growth via strong regional partners. The company, by using VENNs knowledge of the market, industry connections, and technical presence in Japan, intends to provide locally compliant services to customers based on the engineering standards and regulatory requirements typical of the area.
Executives from the two companies underlined the fact that the joint efforts of Oxford Flows engineering creativity and VENNs local knowledge of infrastructure will be used to supply environmentally friendly and energy, efficient valve products to the Japanese market and at the same time to help the execution of energy and infrastructure projects at a large scale.
Strategic implications for industrial suppliers and EPCs
For EPC contractors, utilities, and industrial operators, the partnership:
Expands access to advanced global valve technologies
Provides localized technical service and support
Strengthens supply options for infrastructure upgrades
Supports adoption of automation-ready and low-emission systems
The agreement also positions Japan as a potential launchpad for Oxford Flow’s broader Asia-Pacific expansion, reinforcing the country’s importance as a technically demanding but high-value industrial market.
