Woodstock Inc., operator of the US stock investment app Woodstock, is pleased to announce the official launch of an investment service that allows trading of US stocks 24 hours a day (excluding excluded stocks and maintenance times) with no trading fees, exchange fees, balance fees, or withdrawal fees. This is the first service in Japan to offer commission-free US stock trading with no trading conditions.
Since its launch in 2023, Woodstock has surpassed 120,000 app downloads, and has recently been praised, especially among young people, as an innovative product for providing a real-time news service using AI and enabling identity verification using a smartphone My Number card, an industry first.
In the United States, Robinhood launched a commission-free trading service about 10 years ago, and by around 2019, free trading had become the new investment standard, significantly expanding the scope of individual investment.

With this renewal of the Woodstock service, Japanese investors will now be able to invest in the world’s largest stock market, completely free of charge, on the same basis as US investors.
In recent years, interest in US stocks has grown rapidly in Japan, and according to data from the US Federal Reserve, the amount of US stocks held by Japanese investors has increased by more than 50% over the past two years, from approximately $800 billion to $1.25 trillion.
