EdgeX Inc. has jointly developed an AI chatbot specialized for “meviy,” an AI platform for machine parts procurement, with MISUMI Group Holdings Inc.
This service utilizes generative AI to instantly present the optimal answer based on the customer’s intent from a massive technical and operational manual of over 300 pages. The easy-to-understand answers, which include tables and supporting links, shorten the time it takes to resolve questions and contribute to customers’ faster parts procurement.
Since its launch, meviy has been a platform for machinery procurement parts aimed at design and manufacturing sites, and has been continuously expanding its functionality to improve customer convenience.

While the wide variety of compatible materials, processing conditions, and various functions has increased convenience, the amount of information has become extremely large (equivalent to over 300 pages in the manual), and we have increasingly received feedback from customers that it takes a long time to find the information they need.
To solve these issues, EdgeX developed a high-quality AI chatbot specifically for meviy, utilizing its proprietary learning data structuring technology and generative AI. This solves the problems of dealing with massive amounts of information and flexible responses that were difficult with conventional keyword search or scenario-based chatbots. It is now possible to provide highly accurate responses by learning information from technical and operation manuals, which can run to hundreds of thousands of characters, in an optimal format, and to utilize generative AI to provide responses that understand the question and context.
