Sensyn Robotics and Chubu Electric Power Grid have established a business partnership which aims to implement drone and AI technologies for actual operational use beyond testing and demonstration purposes. The partnership covers both technology development and consulting services.
The two companies already have history here. They jointly developed automated drone inspection technology for overhead power transmission equipment and turned it into a dedicated application called POWER GRID Check. Chubu Electric Power Grid has used that system since its introduction in 2021. They have continued to develop the system since its initial deployment by implementing artificial intelligence which detects equipment problems during inspection processes.
The relationship will enter its next stage starting from September 2025. Sensyn Robotics and Chubu Electric Power Grid will jointly offer consulting services using POWER GRID Check for inspections and maintenance of customers’ overhead transmission equipment. This is not limited to software delivery. It includes how inspections are designed, operated, and improved.

Through this partnership, they plan to expand what POWER GRID Check can inspect and move toward autonomous, end-to-end inspections across entire transmission and distribution facilities. The scope also goes beyond inspections. The two companies plan to develop new technologies using drones, other devices, and AI in additional operational areas.
Another focus is data. They aim to advance how inspection data is analyzed and used, with the goal of optimizing power transmission and distribution operations as a whole, not just spotting defects.
POWER GRID Check itself is a drone-based inspection application that can automatically inspect towers, insulators, ground wires, and power lines in one run. It maintains safe distances, collects consistent data through automated navigation, and can be used by workers without deep drone expertise.
