NTT Security Japan and Proofpoint Japan have teamed up to launch a new cybersecurity knowledge portal aimed squarely at executives. The site is now live on NTT Security Japan’s website and is designed for managers who need to understand cyber risk without getting buried in technical detail.
Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue. It is a management problem. The number of CISOs has increased, thereby improving the mechanisms for discovering risks. Yet the making of the final decisions remains largely unaffected, falling under the responsibility of executives who do not have the experience or time to make good risk assessments. Attacks now directly target CEOs and senior leaders, not just systems. Add Japan’s complex supply chains to the mix, and the risk spreads quickly, especially to small and mid-sized companies that lack budget and specialist staff.
The portal focuses on what managers actually need to know. Short videos explain common risks such as email fraud targeting executives, account abuse using leadership credentials, and basic device management. Each video runs about two minutes, built for people who are short on time. There is also a simple personal security check that lets users quickly assess their home networks or family PCs, tying personal behavior back to professional responsibility.

The basic concept of the main idea proves to be straightforward. The weakest link in security systems exists because people compose the system’s most vulnerable point. The partners intend to enhance organizational decision-making through their top-level awareness program. As NTT Group CISO Shinichi Yokohama puts it, the goal is to give busy leaders practical, up-to-date guidance they can absorb in spare moments and actually use.
