Nippon Steel Solutions Corporation and Oracle Corporation have begun collaborating to provide sovereign cloud and AI services, further strengthening their strong partnership spanning more than 30 years. NSSOL will deploy Oracle Alloy in data centers in Tokyo and Kyushu, and will revamp its managed cloud service, absonne , with the next service scheduled to be launched in the second half of fiscal year 2026. In addition to Tokyo, hyperscaler cloud services will also be available in Kyushu, a region closely associated with Nippon Steel.
Japanese companies are facing a mountain of challenges, including resolving the IT talent shortage, optimizing costs, accelerating digital transformation, countering increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, and moving away from legacy systems. The underlying issue is the siloed nature of IT environments, and the need to implement IT operations and security measures for each silo is contributing to the IT talent shortage. In addition, companies are facing complex and advanced challenges, such as developing a stable platform for full-scale implementation and operation of AI, and responding to data sovereignty requirements in an environment where economic security and compliance demands are increasing.
The next version of absonne’s service will be revamped with the introduction of Oracle’s comprehensive cloud infrastructure platform, Oracle Alloy. By utilizing over 200 cloud and AI services, including Oracle AI Database , provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) , the service will be able to meet the data sovereignty requirements of Japanese companies and provide customers with a sovereign cloud environment that can be operated and managed entirely within Japan. In addition, NSSOL’s strengths, such as its operational service emerald , cyber attack countermeasure service NSSIRIUS , and consulting service xSource , will be optimized for Oracle Alloy and offered as an optional menu.
