Google is buying Intersect Power, a US-based company that builds data center and energy infrastructure. The deal is worth $4.75 billion.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, will take over Intersect’s entire portfolio. That includes projects that are still being developed or under construction. These projects cover multi-gigawatt energy and data center assets.
Intersect Power will keep running as its own independent company. The team, operations, and structure will stay the same for now.

This acquisition is part of Google’s plan to expand its energy capabilities and support its data centers. It also shows the company is serious about large-scale energy projects while keeping Intersect’s expertise intact.
