Lanstia Inc. has announced the acquisition of the business related to GEAR.indigo, an AI-powered requirements definition solution previously provided by Stellaps Inc.. Following this transfer, Lanstia will assume full responsibility for the development, operation, and customer support of GEAR.indigo and has already begun delivering the service.
GEAR.indigo was originally developed by Stellaps as an AI-driven tool designed to support requirements definition in system development projects. Since its launch, it has been adopted by a wide range of companies and practitioners. Lanstia has been involved in the operation and customer support of the GEAR.indigo Enterprise Edition in collaboration with Stellaps, accumulating practical knowledge and operational experience around the product. Building on this background, Lanstia decided to take over the business with the aim of further enhancing the solution’s value.
In recent years, generative AI has rapidly become embedded in system development processes, evolving into a core part of development infrastructure. Since around 2023, Lanstia has been exploring and applying approaches described as “AI-driven development” within its contract-based system development projects. Through direct use of GEAR.indigo in real-world development work, the company has recognized the tool’s strong effectiveness in improving requirements definition efficiency and quality.

At the same time, Lanstia has been expanding its own AI solution development in areas such as cloud infrastructure and operations. Against this backdrop, the company identified strong synergy between its existing initiatives and GEAR.indigo, leading to the decision to acquire the business.
Under the new structure, the service will continue to be provided without interruption. There will be no changes to existing user contracts or stored data, and customer support will be transitioned to Lanstia, with plans to gradually strengthen the support framework. Lanstia will also work on enhancing functionality and improving integration with related services.
Looking ahead, Lanstia plans to position GEAR.indigo as a core in-house product line, delivering greater efficiency and value to organizations adopting AI-driven requirements definition. In parallel, the company is developing Rinstack, an AI solution for building, operating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. By combining these offerings, Lanstia aims to improve productivity across system development environments.
While carrying forward the expertise and insights cultivated by Stellaps, Lanstia intends to further evolve GEAR.indigo through its own technical capabilities, operational know-how, and integration with existing products, supporting more effective and sustainable development processes for its customers.
