HOUSEI Co., Ltd., which develops AI facial recognition solutions, is pleased to announce that it has newly provided its “unmanned store solution” to Sanyodo Bookstore Tarui Store, operated by Sanyodo Bookstore Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sanyodo Holdings Co., Ltd.
This brings the total number of Sanyodo bookstores that have begun smart unmanned operations since April 2024 to 27, and is expected to further contribute to labor-saving, efficiency, and sales expansion in bookstore management.
“Unmanned Store Solution” is a labor-saving store operation support service from HOUSEI that utilizes AI (artificial intelligence) and IT. HOUSEI proposes unmanned store solutions to solve a variety of issues, including non-face-to-face customer service, work style reform, and labor shortage mitigation. With solutions such as facial recognition automatic door unlocking services, online member reservations, monitoring services, and unmanned payment services, it enables unmanned store operations in a wide range of industries, including bookstores, gyms, and beauty salons. In addition to Sanyodo Bookstore, the bookstore solution has been adopted by several other companies.

An indoor golf driving range in Tokyo equipped with simulation golf equipment has achieved 24-hour, fully unmanned operation, including a member reservation management service and entrance doors that only open during the time slots reserved by members. The company is currently seeking sales and construction partners for this solution.
