Toyota Iron Works Corporation has started using ‘Assured,’ a cloud service security credit rating system run by Assured Corporation. The goal is to reduce the workload for cloud security assessments, make evaluations more accurate with third-party input, and run regular checks in the future.
The organization was having a hard time maintaining pace with the deployment of cloud services. 3-5 hours were necessary for each evaluation, and the entire procedure was able to take anywhere from 3 weeks to a month. This put a big strain on the assessment team. They also wanted to periodically re-evaluate existing services after security incidents, but could not do it because of limited time. They also wanted more objective evaluations using third-party experts.
Assured solves this by using a database of third-party evaluations to standardize the assessment process. It reduces the work needed to check each service, shortens the assessment timeline, and provides clear scoring to make evaluations consistent and reliable.
