Ricoh Company, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has completed operational testing of the open weight model “gpt-oss-120B”, released by OpenAI, Inc. on August 5th (local time in the United States), in an on-premises environment and will begin offering it individually from today.
Although this model has a large-scale configuration with 117 billion parameters, Ricoh’s LLM (large-scale language model) environment construction technology enables it to run efficiently even in an on-premise environment. Furthermore, starting this fall, the model is scheduled to be included in the “RICOH On-Premise LLM Starter Kit,” which domestic sales company Ricoh Japan Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Toru Kasai) will begin offering in April 2025.
Ricoh will support customers in utilizing generative AI by providing optimal AI solutions, including environment construction, according to customer needs.

As generative AI becomes more widespread in society, the use of AI in business operations is gaining attention for its potential to improve productivity and create high-value-added work styles. This is creating a growing need for large-scale language models that can handle more advanced and complex tasks.
To meet the diverse needs of its customers, Ricoh not only develops its own LLM, but also provides one-stop AI solutions, from building an optimal operating environment for the LLM to providing support services. This model combines high performance and flexibility, and is expected to open new possibilities for the use of generative AI in companies. As part of these efforts, Ricoh quickly conducted operational testing of this model immediately after its release and began providing it to customers.
