Liberaware Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding a comprehensive business partnership with Malaysia-based Aerodyne Geospatial Sdn. Bhd. in order to promote business expansion into overseas markets and diversify its revenue base.
This partnership was made possible through the Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project Subsidy, which was awarded to us by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The goal is to build a local ecosystem with digital solutions for infrastructure maintenance using drones, and to train pilots for our IBIS series (hereinafter “IBIS”) through Aerodyne Group’s human resource development business, conduct on-the-job training (OJT) at actual sites based on the customer base of both companies, and to train highly skilled personnel in Malaysia who can utilize “IBIS” and our digital solutions. In addition, through the above, we will create new business opportunities in the Malaysian market and build a collaborative system with a view to expanding throughout the Asian region.
Since our founding in 2016, we have been developing and operating some of the world’s smallest drones, specializing in the inspection and measurement of “narrow, dark and dangerous” and “indoor spaces.” We have accumulated a track record of inspections using “IBIS” inside the reactor containment vessel and sewerage pipelines at the Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the infrastructure facilities of major companies such as the JR East Group, and have contributed to the digitalization of facility information and the promotion of digital transformation.

Meanwhile, since its founding in 2014, Aerodyne Group has been providing infrastructure support services based on the “DT3” model, which integrates the three areas of Drone Tech, Data Tech, and Digital Transformation. Using a wide variety of drones, the company operates in more than 45 countries around the world and contributes to the advancement of social infrastructure through AI-based data analysis and inspection and visualization using its own platform. The company has been ranked No. 1 in the world (Drone Industry Insights survey) in the drone service industry for three consecutive years since 2021, and has received high international acclaim for its human resource development, including promoting a national scheme in collaboration with the Malaysian government.
The two companies have decided to form this partnership based on the belief that by utilizing each other’s management resources and know-how, it will be possible to develop sustainable human resources in Malaysia and establish a system for providing local, self-contained solutions at other overseas bases.
This partnership is being carried out with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project Subsidy,” and its main objective is to develop highly skilled human resources in Malaysia who can operate our “IBIS” and related digital solutions.
Aerodyne Flight Institute (AFI), a training institute operated by the Aerodyne Group, will establish a new educational program specialized in IBIS, and through local training, on-the-job training in the field, and the development of highly skilled personnel, we aim to build an ecosystem in which operations can be completed within Malaysia. Furthermore, we are considering utilizing the developed personnel to expand overseas by leveraging the global customer base of both companies.
