Shizuoka Bank Ltd. and NEC Corporation have begun construction of a “common office automation (OA) platform” to be used by approximately 7,000 employees of 14 companies under the Shizuoka Financial Group.
This OA platform will apply a common zero trust architecture within the group, aiming to standardize and improve security measures, reduce the burden when adding new measures, improve operational efficiency, and increase business productivity. It is scheduled to go live in March 2026.
Shizuoka Financial Group is working to provide high-value-added services through the development of channels and the expansion of functions using digital technology under the basic strategy “Transformation Strategy” of the first medium-term management plan “Xover ~ Pioneering a New Era”.
As part of this activity, we have decided to start building a “common OA platform” to enhance security throughout the group.
Previously, each group company used its own OA environment, so security measures had to be implemented by each company.
However, this project aims to evolve security measures in a zero-trust environment by introducing “Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)”, which inspects all Internet communications. This will enable consistent security operations within the group and lead to the introduction of the latest security measures while reducing costs. In addition, by integrating the networks of each group company and connecting all devices directly to the Internet via the “common SASE platform”, it will be possible to use a variety of the latest cloud services more safely.
NEC applied the “BluStellar Modernization Program for Financial Institutions” (Note) to this project and organized issues and measures using a framework based on zero trust architecture.
