Runetale Inc., a provider of mesh network security services, is pleased to announce that it has raised funds from HENNGE Inc., the provider of the cloud security service “HENNGE One,” on the premise of a business partnership.
The two companies have already begun joint development and testing of enterprise features, and Runetale will begin full-scale deployment in the Japanese market from September 2025.
With the rapid spread of generative AI and LLMs (large-scale language models) in recent years, companies are now handling more sensitive data than ever before. At the same time, cyberattacks are becoming more sophisticated, with the National Police Agency reporting that 63% of ransomware infections in Japan* occur via VPN devices. Globally, attacks targeting VPNs and edge devices have surged approximately eight times since the previous year** , highlighting the limitations of traditional VPNs.

Runetale addresses this situation by providing a mesh network communications infrastructure and security service that utilizes the cutting-edge P2P encryption protocol “WireGuard .” By enabling direct communication between devices without the need for a VPN gateway, Runetale simultaneously achieves security, high speed, and ease of operation.
We have provided technical verification and network design support to companies in a wide variety of industries both domestically and internationally.
HENNGE, the company we are investing in, is a leading cloud security company with an ARR of over 10 billion yen*** and the No. 1 domestic market share for IDaaS .
This funding comes as HENNGE assesses that its business infrastructure and Runetale‘s communications technology will have a high future compatibility . Going forward, the two companies will combine HENNGE One’s identity infrastructure with Runetale’s mesh network to jointly pursue advanced security features such as access control and visualization across cloud and on-premise systems, leading to the development of new zero-trust solutions.
Furthermore, the funds raised this time will be used for R&D investment to promote this joint development, as well as for recruiting personnel and strengthening the organization with an eye on the large-scale enterprise market. We will refine both our product and our organization to provide stable communications and flexible access control even in environments with thousands to tens of thousands of users, and move on to the next stage of growth.
