Lightworks Inc., developer and provider of “CAREERSHIP,” the cloud-based learning management system (LMS) with the largest sales share in the market, and e-learning content, is releasing a new service, “Learning Hub for Security,” to address modern society’s challenges in information security education. In partnership with Internet Initiative Japan Inc., which holds a large share of various security services, this service provides content incorporating IIJ’s latest knowledge and expertise, further strengthening organizations’ information security measures.
Increasing information security risks and challenges facing companies
The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICTER) published an observation report (NICTER Observation Report 2024) from its Large-Scale Cyber Attack Observation Network (NICTER) that showed that the number of cyber attack-related communications observed in 2024 was 10.9 times higher than in 2015. Attacks against information security are on the rise and their methods are becoming more complex. As companies have suffered significant losses in some cases, information security can be said to be an important management issue for companies.
The “Top 10 Information Security Threats 2025 [Organizations]” published by the Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA) also suggests that employee education is effective against many information security threats. However, according to an IPA survey, many companies are facing issues such as a “lack of personnel to implement information security measures,” “absence of employees with knowledge of information security measures,” and “low awareness of information security among employees.”

Existing information security training is often conducted only a few times a year, and there are often issues with the comprehensiveness and expertise of the content. According to Ebbinghaus’s forgetting curve theory, approximately 80% of memory is lost within a month, making it difficult to sustain learning effects at this frequency. As a result, situations have arisen where employees could become the greatest risk factor for information security incidents.
“Learning Hub for Security” realizes “continuous education x continuous defense”
With this in mind, Lightworks has developed “Learning Hub for Security,” an information security education service that uses a “distributed learning method” to frequently study microcontent to promote knowledge and awareness while identifying organizations that are not making progress in their learning. This service minimizes employee risks and contributes to strengthening information security systems through the following features:
Highly specialized and up-to-date information, updated biweekly, with cooperation from IIJ
The core of this service is the educational micro-content “Security Anchor,” which is a three-minute video tutorial covering the latest trends, produced in cooperation with IIJ. By repeatedly conveying comprehensive and realistic information in a short span of time, the aim is not simply to grasp the “tactics of deception,” but to raise a deep awareness of the fact that “everyone is a target.” This will build a “security anchor” within employees that will not be shaken by attacks of various methods.
Hassle-free learning experience and efficient management
Employees who are required to take the course will automatically receive an email each time the content is updated, and participants can smoothly take the course by clicking on the URL and going to a dedicated website. This reduces the burden on training staff while encouraging employees to take the course. Attendance history is automatically linked and centrally managed in the LMS “CAREERSHIP,” and regular reports are also generated by Lightworks, making it possible to visualize potential risks, such as organizations with low attendance rates. This report can also be used in internal control reports, leading to more efficient learning management operations.
Targeted attack email training also available
Customers who have signed up for the Learning Hub for Security can also take advantage of the optional targeted attack email training. By tracking both daily training history and training results, you can visualize risks with even greater precision.
“Learning Hub for Security” is a new educational solution that realizes “constant defense” through “constant education” as opposed to the conventional approach of “temporary defense” through “temporary education.” Through this service, Lightworks will support the sustainable growth and safe business operations of companies.
