Japan Business Systems Co., Ltd. and Avanade Japan Ltd. have begun a collaboration aimed at solving governance, security, and identity control challenges that are becoming apparent as the use of AI agents in companies expands, based on the latest Microsoft directions announced at Microsoft Ignite 2025, including Microsoft Agent 365 and Microsoft Entra Agent ID.
The use of generative AI is progressing beyond simply streamlining individual tasks to integrating it into business processes themselves through AI agents. However, as the introduction and increase of agents progresses driven by the field, there is a tendency for so-called “control liabilities” to accumulate, such as difficulty in fully understanding “which agent is working for whom and where,” unclear authority management and accountability, and delays in protecting referenced and generated data and complying with audits. This situation poses a major obstacle to truly scaling up AI utilization.
In response to these challenges, Microsoft is outlining a direction for achieving integrated security and compliance management across the entire organization, including agent identity and access management, as well as data that is referenced, generated, and shared. Based on this direction, JBS and Avanade aim to implement a system within companies that allows for responsible continuation and expansion of AI agent utilization, rather than simply being a “one-and-done” process.

In this collaboration, JBS will leverage its extensive experience in designing, building, and operating on the Microsoft platform to support the implementation and operational adoption of AI agents. Meanwhile, Avanade will utilize its expertise in strategy and consulting centered on Microsoft technologies to support the conceptual design, including governance and security. By complementing each other’s strengths, the two companies will build a system that can consistently support the use of AI agents from the conceptual stage to implementation and operation.
