Cohesity, the leader in AI-powered data security, announced an expanded collaboration with Red Hat, the world’s number one provider of open source solutions, to expand support for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and make it available on Cohesity Data Cloud. Building on this integration, customers can now more easily secure and protect the virtual machine (VM) and container data in their Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments using Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup. These enhancements simplify backup and recovery for users, providing stronger data protection and increased resilience against cyberattacks, including ransomware, and other disruptions.
Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup users can now protect and secure more critical workloads, dramatically increasing efficiency and scalability while simplifying data management. Backup and recovery of Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization-based virtual machines, along with containers, can be managed in the Cohesity Data Cloud with the same workflows as existing data sources.
The Cohesity platform running on Red Hat OpenShift is built on zero trust principles and includes robust security features including immutability, strict access controls and clean room technology to provide the most comprehensive and data resilient platform against advanced cyber attacks. Cohesity’s combination of simplicity, streamlined usability and industry-leading cyber resilience capabilities delivers exceptional value to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization customers. Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is a feature of Red Hat OpenShift, which includes the Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine, and is primarily focused on delivering capabilities for virtual machines and virtualization use cases.
Today’s announcement signals an expansion of Cohesity and Red Hat’s long-standing collaboration, as part of which Cohesity has adopted Red Hat Enterprise Linux as the base operating system for Cohesity Data Cloud. Building on a shared commitment to helping protect customers’ data, Red Hat and Cohesity will deliver comprehensive data resiliency and management capabilities that will support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization workflows and evolution into the future.
