Cisco, NICT Renew Cybersecurity Research Partnership

Cisco Systems announced that Cisco Systems and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) have renewed their memorandum of understanding (MOU) for research cooperation in various fields related to cybersecurity. The two parties signed the MOU in 2017, and this MOU was renewed with the aim of expanding their collaboration in new fields in light of the development of the technological environment. In addition to the existing information sharing, this renewal includes new initiatives. Cisco will also share its cybersecurity source development program with NICT’s Cybersecurity Nexus (CYNEX), and will conduct joint research and exchange knowledge on AI security-related technologies with NICT‘s AI Security Research Center (CREATE). Cisco said that in order to respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks, it is essential for the research community, private companies, and government agencies to work closely together, and that sharing information and knowledge to respond quickly and flexibly to threats will lead to further strengthening of security systems.
