Microsoft and Ericsson have come together to launch a new solution focused on 5G connected PCs running Windows 11. The target is enterprise IT teams that are trying to manage mobile workforces without turning device connectivity into a constant headache.
The setup combines Microsoft Intune with Ericsson Enterprise 5G Connect. Intune handles device management. Ericsson’s platform handles the cellular network side. Put together, IT teams can control how company laptops connect to 5G networks, apply connectivity policies, and manage everything remotely.
There is also an AI layer inside the system. Ericsson’s platform keeps watching network quality in real time. If conditions change, the connection adjusts automatically. Devices can switch between carrier networks, maintain better performance, and stay within company security policies without manual intervention.

Through Intune, IT teams can push connectivity profiles and security rules across all 5G enabled PCs. That removes the need to configure devices one by one and keeps the setup consistent even when employees are working from different locations.
The service is already running with carriers like T Mobile in the US, Telenor in Sweden, Singtel in Singapore, and SoftBank in Japan. The number of planned launch operations in 2026 will increase because operators in Spain, Germany, and Finland will conduct additional missions. The service will expand its accessibility to users from April until June 2026.
