NTT DATA announced that it will be the first in Japan to begin using the “SAP Business Data Cloud,” an integrated data platform that includes SAP Databricks, the latest AI/machine learning (ML) platform provided by SAP Japan. This solution enables the integration and analysis of diverse data from SAP and non-SAP sources, enabling the rapid construction of advanced AI/ML models, as well as the creation of insights using generative AI and the automation of business processes. In recent years, rapid market changes, rising geopolitical risks, and sudden currency fluctuations have increased the complexity of the business environment, making corporate management increasingly challenging. In such circumstances, companies require real-time, highly accurate decision-making, and data accumulated in core systems such as SAP is an extremely important asset for corporate decision-making.
However, there are still many barriers to effectively utilizing this data for predictive analysis and insight generation. SAP Business Data Cloud is a fully managed SaaS solution that integrates and manages internal and external data, both SAP and non-SAP, along with business context, providing trusted business data for AI applications. By utilizing SAP Databricks, future forecasting and scenario analysis using predictive AI become possible, as well as automated knowledge generation and business document creation support using generative AI, and decision-making support through a natural language interface. As the first domestic user, NTT DATA positions itself as “Client Zero.” It utilizes SAP and non-SAP data for integrated analysis of data from multiple domains, including finance and sales, to implement “predictive management” through future forecasts in management and operations, and to advance predictive analysis.

In this initiative, NTT DATA Group companies will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate, share and circulate knowledge across the group, and accelerate deployment to customers. By utilizing the platform as one of its internal AI analysis platforms and maximizing business data, the company aims to not only advance “predictive management” in management and operations, but also support creative work using generative AI. Furthermore, based on the knowledge gained through this initiative, the company aims to support the advancement of data-driven management in Japanese companies and provide new value.
