Nippon Steel Solutions Corporation (NSSOL) announced on the 5th that it has signed its first agency agreement in Japan with Collate, the US provider of the Data Intelligence Platform “Collate.” As a Collate agency, NSSOL will provide Collate, which enables proactive data discovery, data observability, and data governance, helping Japanese companies maximize their data assets and create greater added value. Collate automatically collects metadata and other information from fragmented data assets to address these challenges. It also enables efficient data asset management through AI agents, data classification, document generation, and quality testing. Built on the Collate-developed open source software “OpenMetadata,” NSSOL has enhanced its core functionality and combined it with Collate-specific features tailored to the needs of large-scale data utilization.
The platform is offered as a SaaS solution, with enhanced core functionality, including enterprise-level operational support and Collate-specific features tailored to the needs of large-scale data utilization. Among its key features, Data Discovery provides an integrated catalog for databases, data warehouses, and data utilization tools such as BI tools. Over 90 connectors are available for seamless integration with a variety of data systems. The catalog provides search and filtering functions, column-level lineage, entity relationship diagrams, chat and comment functions, and activity threads. Data Observability provides no-code quality testing and profiling functions for real data. It also provides alerts and notifications for metadata and real data, incident management, and data quality dashboards, supporting root cause analysis using the integrated catalog.
Data Governance provides a data dictionary and business glossary. It also offers classification tags, authentication workflows, a metadata management dashboard, and automated metadata assignment using patterns. Collate AI is an AI agent dedicated to Collate that automates tasks such as adding descriptions, classifying data, and quality testing, and provides a natural-language chatbot. Collate already supports Japanese, and Collate AI is scheduled to support Japanese in the fall of 2025. Using Collate, data is centrally organized and managed, providing users with necessary information such as data meaning and data ownership. This promotes efficient data utilization.

Through this partnership, NSSOL will provide comprehensive implementation services and support for Collate in Japan, helping to transform customers’ data utilization processes.
