Mitsubishi HC Capital Co., Ltd. and Morgenrot Co., Ltd., a provider of solutions for AI data centers and computing infrastructure supporting advanced computing processes, have entered into a capital and business alliance agreement.
Going forward, based on this partnership, both companies will work to create a system that makes it easier for companies to introduce GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and to provide environmentally friendly computing resources in combination with our renewable energy business. This will reduce the burden on companies of procuring and operating computing resources that they face when using AI, and support them in making AI and advanced data utilization smoother.
Background of this partnership
In recent years, as the use of AI has accelerated in a wide range of fields, including manufacturing, finance, healthcare, entertainment, and retail, high-performance GPUs have become indispensable for advanced computational processing such as generative AI and machine learning. As AI models become larger in scale, the surge in demand for GPUs has led to price increases and supply shortages, as well as operational burdens such as increased power consumption and heat management. Furthermore, there are concerns that the installed GPUs may not be able to operate at full capacity due to power supply constraints such as insufficient capacity in the power grid. Against this backdrop, AI servers that deploy a large number of GPUs require capital investment, enhanced cooling, and strengthened power infrastructure, and consideration for environmental impact and sustainability is also required. Therefore, the challenge going forward is not simply to add more GPUs, but to visualize and optimize existing computing resources and utilize them efficiently through sharing.

Morgenrot is a startup company whose mission is to “create a world where you can access the computing power you need, when you need it.” They aim to provide the optimal computing environment by enabling the visualization, management, and optimization of existing computing resources within companies, and by facilitating computing power sharing. They are working to solve the problem of computing power shortages by appropriately managing the computing power held by companies and by establishing a computing power sharing economy model.
In its medium-term management plan for fiscal years 2026-2028, Mitsubishi HC Capital aims to create new value that transcends conventional methods and domains as part of its business strategy, and is also promoting the creation of new businesses through strengthened collaboration with partner companies as part of its digital strategy. This partnership is part of that effort.
Details of this partnership
Based on this partnership, Mitsubishi HC Capital and Morgenrot will collaborate to build and provide computing infrastructure that meets the diverse needs of companies by combining Morgenrot’s technology and know-how in AI data center construction and GPU virtualization and visualization with Mitsubishi HC Capital’s broad customer base, stable fundraising capabilities, and expertise in renewable energy power generation businesses.
Specifically, we will visualize and optimize the operating status of GPUs owned by companies and research institutions, and reduce the initial investment burden and operational load when introducing GPUs by building flexible provision models such as sharing and renting virtualized GPU servers for surplus computing resources. Furthermore, by combining this with Mitsubishi HC Capital’s renewable energy business, we aim to provide sustainable computing resources while also considering the reduction of environmental impact.
Furthermore, the two companies will work together to alleviate challenges related to the introduction and operation of computing resources for Mitsubishi HC Capital’s customers and provide long-term support for creating an environment that facilitates the advancement of AI and data utilization. This will be achieved by supporting the in-house development of AI data centers utilizing GPUs, building dedicated environments, exploring cloud GPU businesses, and verifying the business viability of the used GPU market and secondary use.
Through these initiatives, Mitsubishi HC Capital aims to create new value and enhance its business in the digital infrastructure domain, contributing to the resolution of social issues and the realization of a sustainable society.
This partnership utilizes the “Innovation Investment Fund” operated by Mitsubishi HC Capital, which aims to create new services and promote the development of new businesses through open innovation with startup companies.
