Asuene Co., Ltd. has developed and started offering a new data linking function for “ASUENE”, a cloud service for visualizing, reducing and reporting CO2 emissions, and “ASUENE LCA”, a cloud service that allows you to calculate CFP/LCA for each product and service. This will realize the linking of primary data required for Scope 3 calculations, greatly improving the accuracy and efficiency of emissions management throughout the supply chain.
In recent years, the importance of sustainability reporting has rapidly increased globally, and one particular challenge has been accurately understanding Scope 3* (emissions from the supply chain). Behind this lies the strengthening of European regulations, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which will begin disclosing in stages from this year, and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which is scheduled to be fully operational in 2026. These systems require the submission of emissions data across the entire supply chain, including suppliers and raw materials, making it essential for companies to create systems for more precise emissions management on a product-by-product basis.
To comply with these regulations, companies need to understand the total amount of CO2 emitted throughout the life cycle of a product or service, from “production to disposal,” in other words, the CFP* (Carbon Footprint). For this reason, buyers, the companies on the procurement side, have been required to establish a system that allows them to collect more, more accurate, and more efficient CFP data for each product from their suppliers. With the link between the “ASUENE” and “ASUENE LCA” systems, buyer companies will be able to easily obtain primary data and perform more precise and efficient Scope 3 calculations.

This functional collaboration has made it possible for buyer companies and supplier companies to smoothly exchange CFP data using “ASUENE” and “ASUENE LCA.” Buyers can register CFP data provided by their suppliers as emissions intensity on the “ASUENE” management screen, and use it for their own Scope 3 and CFP calculations.
On the other hand, for suppliers, the automation of CFP submission by “ASUENE LCA” will greatly reduce the burden of daily work. The history of interactions with buyer companies is recorded in the system, realizing transparent and highly reliable data sharing.
This new system will enable more accurate and efficient exchange of primary data between buyers and suppliers, contributing to improving the accuracy of Scope 3 calculations and building a foundation for reliable information disclosure.
We will continue to promote automation and efficiency in the areas of decarbonization and sustainability, and support corporate sustainability management to realize “A better world for the next generation.”
