PaperLogic Inc. is pleased to announce that it has begun collaboration with Japan Communications Inc., a provider of mobile communications services and security and authentication technologies, to commercialize a party-based electronic contract service using electronic certificates issued through certified authentication services under the Electronic Signature Act.
This business partnership aims to realize a party-based electronic contract service using certified electronic certificates in accordance with the Electronic Signature Act with safe, inexpensive, and simple procedures by incorporating the FPoS library, a security platform provided by my FinTech Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “my FinTech”), a subsidiary of Japan Communications that operates an electronic certification authority for certified certification work under the Electronic Signature Act (hereinafter referred to as “certified electronic certification authority under the Electronic Signature Act”), into our business document digitization service “paperlogic.”
Electronic contract services apply electronic signatures to PDF files such as contracts, and can be broadly divided into two types: “party type” and “witness type.” In the “party type,” each contracting party electronically signs using their own digital certificate, directly guaranteeing their identity and intent to enter into the contract. In contrast, the “witness type” is a system in which the electronic contract service provider electronically signs using their own digital certificate.

While certified electronic certificates based on the Electronic Signature Act are guaranteed high security through examination and certification under the said Act, they require IC cards, etc., and are expensive to issue and require complicated procedures. For this reason, the electronic contract services that are currently widely used are either “witness-type” services that do not require the issuance of electronic certificates for the contracting parties, or “party-type” services that use electronic certificates other than those for certified authentication services under the Electronic Signature Act.
Our business document digitization service, “paperlogic,” is a solution that can digitize legally required documents such as contracts, invoices, delivery notes, and meeting minutes while meeting all legal requirements. It supports witness-type electronic signatures as well as party-type electronic signatures, allowing you to use it according to your needs.
JCI’s FPoS library is a module that can verify identity using the My Number Card’s JPKI (Public Personal Authentication Service) and issue certified electronic certificates based on the Electronic Signature Act in real time, safely, and at low cost within the secure area of a smartphone.
This business partnership will enable the provision of certified electronic certificates based on the Electronic Signature Act in a low-cost, easy-to-use format, and aims to create a party-based electronic contract service that simultaneously achieves the three elements of “high security,” “convenience,” and “low cost,” which have previously been difficult to achieve together.
