Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation will begin offering the paid AI model optimization service “Studio” through “AITRIOS™,” a platform that enables the efficient development and implementation of sensing solutions using edge devices such as AI cameras. The service will be available in Japan from February 2025, and will be gradually expanded to other regions in the future.
“Studio” is a one-stop service that provides development templates for AI models required for each use case or task, enabling re-training of AI models, optimization of downstream processing parameters, and evaluation.
By streamlining the development of high-precision edge AI through “Studio,” SSS will accelerate the implementation of sensing solutions in society.

Generally, when developing solutions that utilize edge AI, there are often limitations on the computing resources of the camera (edge device), such as the computing power and memory size, which means that the AI model must be compact and must be finely optimized for each use case, target object, and camera installation position.
Furthermore, optimizing an AI model requires not only annotating (labeling) each image taken by the target device, but also adjusting parameters to improve the accuracy of the model’s output results and evaluating whether it is actually working as required, which requires an enormous amount of man-hours.In addition, specialized knowledge of AI development is required, which has been an obstacle to development.
