Nippon Steel Solutions Corporation has begun selling “Geminant,” a digital twin solution to customers in the manufacturing, energy, and transportation industries who have manufacturing and logistics facilities. The solution displays information about the operations, maintenance, security, and logistics of their facilities in a 3D digital space, enabling unified visualization.
Background of Geminant Development
Our customers in industries such as manufacturing, energy, and transportation had the following challenges and needs in their on-site operations:
You can’t know the actual situation unless you go there.
I want to share what on-site workers see and feel with other workers and managers in a timely manner.
We want to visualize the operational status of the site and share the understanding in a way that is easy for anyone to understand, regardless of time or place.
We want to improve the searchability of records of inspections, troubleshooting, etc., and make it easier to use the data and records.
When managing daily operations or responding to problems, we want to be free from the hassle of having to check information across multiple system screens.
We want to manage the tacit knowledge and know-how of experienced workers in chronological order, covering the past, present, and future, so that skills can be passed on to the next generation.

To solve these issues and needs, Geminant began planning its product in 2023, aiming to develop a product that enables data integration and sharing between different business processes (construction⇔maintenance, machinery⇔electricity, headquarters⇔factory, etc.) with data chronological management and on-site visualization as key features. The company expanded its functions through PoC with several customers and began selling the product.
