GRID has launched Future Design Lab, a cross-industry co-creation hub focused on applying mathematical optimization to broader industrial and social challenges. The company has also opened a sort of dedicated website, to seek partner across industries, you know.
This initiative is trying to move beyond only optimizing individual companies or even departments, and instead it wants to tackle connected challenges across several organizations, and sectors. GRID plans to gather know-how from areas like power, logistics, aviation and housing, to look at next-generation infrastructure.
FDEs, or Forward Deployed Engineers, will be sort of central here, they will work directly with partner companies to see how operations run, how data flows, and how decisions get made. They will support projects from identifying problems through implementation.
