FLIGHTS Inc., a company working to solve challenges in the construction industry with the mission of “redefining the construction industry from the field up with 3D data,” is pleased to announce that it has completed the first close of its Series A round. The underwriters for this round of funding include CTS Inc., Dai Nippon Diamond Consultants Co., Ltd., Shinshu Startup & Succession Support No. 2 Investment Limited Partnership, directX Ventures No. 1 Limited Partnership, and NOBUNAGA Growing Fund Investment Limited Partnership. FLIGHTS contributes to the future of social infrastructure by utilizing 3D data to improve productivity on construction sites, focusing on surveying/measurement, inspection/maintenance, and other areas.
While demand in the construction industry remains strong, the declining working population and aging of engineers are becoming serious issues, making improving productivity an urgent issue. In response to this situation, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is promoting the automation of construction sites using digital technology through measures such as “i-Construction.” However, the first step toward automation, on-site digitalization, still faces high hurdles, and there are only a limited number of cases where it has actually been put into operation on-site.
We believe this is due to a combination of issues, including the fact that on-site digitalization technology does not meet the high quality standards of construction sites, as well as cost and ease of use.

FLIGHTS solves this problem by designing work specifications based on research and development by civil engineers, and implementing a consistent solution that includes hardware development and device control to support appropriate data acquisition, all the way through to 3D data creation. Based on its track record to date, FLIGHTS will continue to develop products that contribute to improving productivity in the fields of public surveying and maintenance management, and will continue to promote research and development and strengthen its internal structure in order to further expand and advance the scope of application in the construction industry, such as supporting remote work on site.
