Zen Intelligence Co., Ltd. has closed its Series A round of funding with a total of 2.5 billion yen, including a commitment line of 1 billion yen in debt financing from four financial institutions. The funds raised will be used to focus investment on the development of a physical AI agent to realize unmanned construction sites.
In the construction industry, in addition to labor shortages and an aging workforce, the need to address the cap on overtime work has become a critical management challenge, as it is necessary to increase supply capacity while maintaining construction quality. In particular, the construction management work handled by site supervisors involves multifaceted confirmation and judgment regarding safety, quality, and schedule, so the need for efficiency and manpower reduction in site management operations is increasing even further.
On the other hand, generative AI, which has been rapidly advancing in recent years, is mainly being used in areas that handle digitized and structured information such as documents and text, and its application to tasks that originate in physical space, such as construction sites, is still limited. At construction sites, it is necessary to understand what is happening where on the site and to make decisions, give instructions, and record things based on that understanding.

To address this challenge, our company defines AI that understands the site starting from the physical space and supports and automates practical work as a “Physical AI Agent.” In the construction field, it is important to go beyond simple image recognition and understand the site space based on data that captures the site space over time, including positional relationships, spatial structure, correspondence with drawings, and even continuity with the past. We will automate construction management tasks based on spatial intelligence and specialized VLM, leading to the early realization of “unmanned site management.”
In mid-April 2026, we released “zenshot AI,” a physical AI agent for the construction sector. This fundraising is intended to further accelerate our research and development and social implementation. Focusing on the development of physical AI agents, we will accelerate investment in related areas including AI, hardware, and robotics, and strengthen our development and business structures to contribute to improving the supply capacity of the construction industry.
