Xross Road has raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed round to accelerate development of HANASEE, its AI-powered manga creation tool, and has released a closed beta to invited users. The round was co-led by Arbitrum Gaming Ventures and Decima Fund, with participation from several venture firms and individual investors.
The pitch is straightforward. Numerous powerful stories fail to progress beyond their development as novels or screenplays. The production of manga and anime adaptations gets obstructed by three main factors which include production expenses and the lack of available skilled workers and the lengthy time required to complete production. HANASEE is designed to break that logjam. It uses an AI agent-based production engine that converts novels and scripts into full-length, coherent manga without requiring creators to draw.
Unlike generic image generation tools, HANASEE models real manga workflows. Separate AI agents handle illustration, panel composition, and layout, while maintaining character and world consistency across pages. The system is trained with active manga artists in the loop, aiming to preserve professional storytelling rhythm rather than just visual output.

For creators, the impact is speed and access. Stories can be visualized, tested, and grown into IP far earlier. The industry trend shows that this development supports media mix pipelines which require AI-powered IP discovery tools. Xross Road plans to add publishing, monetization, and rights management on its platform in 2026, positioning HANASEE as both a creation tool and an IP launchpad.
