Veeva Systems has announced the Veeva Study Builder Agent, an AI-powered solution designed to automate and accelerate the setup of clinical trials from study protocols.
The agent can configure elements of Veeva EDC and Veeva DQS, including forms, visits, edit-check rules and CQL-based lists. It uses an organization’s existing standards together with the CDISC Unified Study Definitions Model (USDM) to support more consistent trial configuration.
The solution also brings automation into testing including making test data and helping with testing processes. By linking protocol details with setup and testing tasks the method tries to cut down the work needed to get clinical trial environments ready.

Veeva plans to offer the Study Builder Agent to users in December 2026. The agent will be included in Veeva EDC without needing a license as the company said.
The work shows a movement toward using AI agents to automate specific tasks, in life sciences. As clinical research gets data-heavy and complicated AI-powered automation might help companies make trial setup faster while keeping old standards and procedures.
