ULSYSTEMS Inc. and U.S.-based Cognition AI have announced a strategic partnership to introduce the autonomous AI engineer “Devin” to the Japanese enterprise market. Originally launched by Cognition AI in December 2024, Devin functions as a fully autonomous software developer capable of performing tasks such as planning, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation entirely through natural language prompts and automated tool operation.
This collaboration marks a significant step in bringing AI-driven automation to Japan’s traditionally labor-intensive system development sector. By leveraging Devin, enterprises can streamline large-scale development projects with smaller, more efficient teams, potentially reducing reliance on the conventional man-month contracting model.
