Things Co., Ltd. has entered into a business partnership with AI Librarium Co., Ltd., an AI consulting company.
The two companies, sharing the same goal of “making tacit knowledge buried within companies AI-ready,” aim to combine their ability to formalize knowledge and the container (PRISM) to house it, thereby providing end-to-end support for knowledge transfer and AI utilization in the manufacturing industry.
AI Librarium structures veteran judgment into ontologs and skills, while PRISM, the Things component, functions as a foundation for accumulating, connecting, and utilizing them.

In Japanese manufacturing, the design judgment, troubleshooting, verification know-how, and fine-tuning accumulated by skilled engineers have supported quality and competitiveness. However, with the retirement of senior generations, a decline in the working-age population, and a shortage of young workers, there is a growing risk that much of this knowledge will be lost without being passed on.
Many companies have introduced generation AI and built RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems to search for information buried in documents such as drawings, BOMs, specifications, inspection records, and quality reports, achieving a certain level of effectiveness in document retrieval. However, they have not yet reached the point of replicating the thought processes and decision-making processes of experienced professionals, and are facing the challenge that the AI’s responses are superficial or not essential. RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), which focuses primarily on document retrieval, makes it difficult to reproduce in practice the perspectives, decision-making criteria, and exception handling skills of veterans who have been in charge of the field for generations.
