SORACOM, Inc. will begin offering “SORACOM Agent,” a managed AI agent service that enables automation of business operations, on-site improvements, and product development using IoT, even without specialized IT knowledge, starting July 7, 2026. This service will be released as a Technology Preview version.
SORACOM Agent is a managed AI agent that accompanies users throughout all stages of their IoT projects, from planning and prototyping to development and operation.
Automating on-site processes and developing products using AI has become an important theme for many companies, not only as a way to reduce costs but also as an opportunity to create new businesses. On the other hand, IoT spans a wide range of technological areas such as devices, communications, cloud, AI, and security, so its construction requires specialized knowledge. In addition, the business personnel with on-site know-how and the engineers who build the systems are often in different departments, so even if there are ideas for utilization, it has been time-consuming and costly to secure the necessary expertise and coordinate between departments before actually putting them into action and achieving results.

SORACOM Agent, equipped with IoT knowledge, can offer solutions based on your problems, or autonomously perform tasks by figuring out IoT implementation methods and procedures simply by telling it your goals, while operating multiple tools. By simply giving instructions in natural language, such as “When an anomaly detection alert is issued from a sensor, understand the details and notify me of the countermeasures,” it will combine SORACOM’s extensive suite of IoT services—device management, data collection, image analysis, and automated notifications—to build a system. Users do not need to provide step-by-step instructions. Personnel with the necessary business knowledge and expertise can solve problems themselves while consulting with the agent.
Furthermore, it incorporates “Project Memory,” which stores know-how such as past user interactions, recorded on-site events, and work procedures over the long term. As a result, the more you use it, the deeper its understanding of your company’s operations becomes, and it functions as a dedicated AI partner. SORACOM Agent operates in a secure container environment isolated for each user, handling confidential data and business information separately within the customer’s own environment. Input and collected data, and insights gained through projects, are retained as the customer’s own IP (intellectual assets). No local environment setup is required, and an AI agent familiar with SORACOM services is pre-installed on the platform, so you can start using it immediately.
