MTI and Ocean Network Express have set up a new joint venture called QUAVEO in Ho Chi Minh City. The company was established in December 2025, with a clear focus on using AI to change how operations and business models work in the container shipping industry.
ONE brings scale and operational depth. It runs more than 260 container vessels and connects over 120 countries. What it also brings is a growing pressure point. Shipping is getting more complex. Increased customer expectations are the order of the day. The cost factor, safety requirements, lack of workforce, and setting of carbon emissions reduction are all overlapping and putting pressure at the same time. Digital transformation is no longer optional.
MTI’s role is not about surface level digitization. Over the years, the organization has been employing AI in diverse sectors like consumer services, enterprise systems, and public sector projects. The aim is to use AI for completely revolutionizing the processes, decision makers, and value deliverers instead of merely automating the assignments.

QUAVEO sits at the intersection of both. The joint venture will develop AI solutions that actually work on the ground, from ship allocation planning and logistics optimization to customer support automation and personalized services. It also targets back office automation using AI agents, so people spend less time on routine work and more on decisions.
A key part of the plan is talent. QUAVEO will train AI professionals who understand real operations, helping companies build internal capability rather than depend forever on vendors.
While shipping is the starting point, the ambition goes further. QUAVEO plans to take these AI capabilities into distribution and manufacturing, pushing AI driven digital transformation beyond pilots and into revenue generating systems.
