Kirin Holdings Company, Limited will introduce OpenAI, Inc.’s corporate generative AI service “ChatGPT Enterprise” to some of the Kirin Group’s strategy planning and planning departments, research and development departments, and marketing departments from July 2025, further accelerating productivity improvement and value creation.
In addition, Kirin will work with OpenAI to build business-specific AI agents, primarily for the departments that will introduce “ChatGPT Enterprise.” By utilizing AI in some business processes, Kirin aims to create value by taking advantage of the characteristics of OpenAI’s safe, reliable, cutting-edge generative AI.
Refers to AI that can think and act autonomously, a system in which AI can carry out tasks with minimal instructions.
With the introduction of “ChatGPT Enterprise,” the strategy planning and planning departments will use it for external environment surveys and business plan formulation, streamlining planning work so that they can respond quickly to a rapidly changing environment. The R&D department will use it for patent and literature research, experimental data analysis and paper writing, and the marketing department will use it for research, analysis and consultation for the development of unprecedented new products, aiming to improve the speed of value creation.

By utilizing the advanced search and inference functions of “ChatGPT Enterprise” in these tasks that require expertise, it will be possible to conduct research necessary to respond to complex situations and develop strategies to realize value creation. In addition, in order to enable employees to use generative AI appropriately and effectively in their work, we will develop an educational program with the cooperation of OpenAI, and establish a system to operate it effectively in a manner that is in line with the Kirin Group’s business.
Under the “KIRIN Digital Vision2035 (hereinafter, KDV2035)*2,” the Kirin Group aims to dramatically improve the quality, quantity, and speed of value creation in the fields of food, health science, and medicine by strengthening the digital infrastructure that supports them, with the twin pillars of business results being “improved productivity” and “value creation,” and to become a global leader in CSV.
To achieve this vision, the Group has begun efforts to spread the generative AI tool “BuddyAI,” which was rolled out to approximately 15,000 employees in Japan in May 2025. By promoting the use of “BuddyAI,” the Group will not only foster an organizational culture in which employees use generative AI in their work as a matter of course, but in the medium term, it will use generative AI technology and unique data obtained from the diverse customer contact points accumulated by the Kirin Group to fundamentally transform existing business processes in specific departments and develop businesses and services using digital technology, dramatically improving the quantity, quality, and speed of value creation.
We view this collaboration with OpenAI and the introduction of “ChatGPT Enterprise” to some departments as important initiatives in the Group’s use of generative AI to achieve this mid-term goal, and by strengthening both our efforts with “BuddyAI” and the introduction of “ChatGPT Enterprise,” we aim to achieve the results of “improved productivity” and “value creation.”
