KDDI Digital Divergence Holdings, an intermediate holding company of KDDI, and its wholly owned subsidiary, iRet, will merge on April 1, 2026 and launch as KDDI iRet Corporation.
KDDI IRET will integrate some of KDDI’s sales and system engineering functions, with IRET, which has top-class experience in Japan in the cloud integration field (Note 1), at its core. By combining the expertise and technical capabilities of each group company, we will build a system that provides comprehensive support from AI project creation to development and operation.
We will continue to expand our engineering talent base, aiming to have a workforce of around 3,000 people by fiscal 2028, to provide optimal AI solutions to customers and accelerate the implementation of AI in society.
KDDI is developing data centers that safely process corporate data through its Osaka Sakai Data Center and other facilities. By incorporating an AI platform into a robust communications infrastructure, we aim to build a nationwide low-latency network and AI computing infrastructure. We believe it is important to utilize this communications and AI platform to strongly promote the social implementation of AI, thereby contributing to the business growth of our customers and enriching their lives and experiences.

Furthermore, advanced cloud integration technology is essential to accelerating the social implementation of AI. IRET has a top-class track record in Japan in the cloud integration field, and in recent years has seen a rapid increase in its support for AI implementation. It has also achieved high-quality, speedy development through AI-driven development.
In addition, to maximize the results of AI implementation, it is extremely important to prepare data (AI-Ready), select the optimal AI model, and ensure security.
Through KDDI IRET, we will gain a deep understanding of the world our customers aspire to and the challenges they face in all of these areas, and offer optimal proposals that combine communications, AI, and systems. By handling everything from implementation to operation and improvement, the KDDI Group will maximize the value we provide to our customers and contribute to the creation of a prosperous society brought about by AI.
