JIJ Corporation has raised approximately 840 million yen through a third-party allocation of shares, with Global Brain Corporation as the lead investor and multiple funds managed by Global Brain Corporation and a fund managed by Fujitsu Ventures Limited as subscribers.
We will use the funds raised to further expand our mathematical optimization business, which is currently in practical use, to enhance our optimization platform utilizing quantum technology and AI, to accelerate research and development of middleware for gate-type quantum computers, and to expand globally.
Since its founding, JIJ has focused on mathematical optimization and quantum computing technologies to solve complex planning and optimization challenges in a wide range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, transportation, telecommunications, and energy. In recent years, the technologies cultivated through research and development have been put into practical use, expanding into solutions that support the continuous decision-making of businesses.

Background of fundraising
In industrial and social infrastructure sectors, challenges related to planning, allocation, and control are becoming increasingly complex due to supply chain instability, demand fluctuations, the increasing scale of planned projects, and the advancement of AI and data utilization. Developing high-quality solutions within limited timeframes from a vast array of options and constraints is a critical issue that impacts corporate competitiveness and the sustainability of social infrastructure.
Mathematical optimization has already demonstrated its value in practical applications to address these challenges. Meanwhile, expectations are rising for quantum computing as a next-generation computing platform to cope with increasingly complex and large-scale challenges in the future.
In order to utilize quantum computing in industry, in addition to advancements in hardware, a software infrastructure is essential that can formulate actual business problems into a computable form, appropriately combine computing resources such as conventional computers and quantum computers, and connect them to practical operation.
Under its mission of “making society computable and contributing to human progress,” JIJ has been developing technologies for the industrial application of quantum computing, based on its mathematical optimization business, which is progressing in practical use. Through this funding round, JIJ will strengthen these efforts and accelerate its business expansion both domestically and internationally.
