FPT Software and CISD, the IT strategy company within the Itochu Corporation Group, have officially launched the Global Tech Center, a joint innovation organization designed to accelerate digital and AI transformation across Itochu’s global businesses.
Unlike the typical outsourcing pattern, or even a kind of capital partnership, this initiative kind of runs like a virtual in-house IT unit. Both companies will operate under shared development standards, quality frameworks, and everyday operating principles, mixing Itochu’s business know-how with FPT’s worldwide engineering strength, which is not only pretty practical but also keeps things aligned. The approach builds on a long running collaboration in SAP systems and then gradually nudges the emphasis toward wider AI and data-driven transformation efforts.
The Global Tech Center will help support a staged deployment of AI across the whole group. It starts with a secure platform that separates enterprise data from external AI services, followed by embedding AI into business operations such as ERP, application management, and business process outsourcing. The final stage aims to create an AI platform that can support everyday operations and management decisions through natural language interactions.

The initiative also expands the deployment of FPT’s LLM-based technology within Itochu’s overseas businesses, where AI-powered agents are already being introduced to improve productivity and support business-specific operations. Looking ahead, both companies plan to turn the Global Tech Center into a long-term engine for reusable AI, digital, and IT capabilities that can be applied across the wider Itochu Group.
