Rakuten Advertising has launched a new conversational AI agent called Mirai. The tool is designed to help advertisers manage affiliate marketing campaigns without dealing with the usual manual setup and backend configuration work.
Instead of going through dashboards and technical settings step by step, advertisers can interact with Mirai through natural language. The system takes business goals and turns them into actual affiliate campaign setups behind the scenes. That includes handling configuration logic and campaign structure automatically.
One of the main things Rakuten Advertising is pushing here is simplification. Affiliate campaign management can become complicated pretty quickly, especially when commission structures, seasonal promotions, and multiple partner relationships are involved. Mirai is supposed to reduce that operational load by handling more of the setup work directly.

The AI agent also combines several functions into one system. It can recommend commission models based on campaign objectives, generate backend configuration code automatically, and adjust campaign details through conversational prompts. For example, advertisers can change promotional periods or sales event timing without manually rebuilding campaign settings.
According to Adam Rostan, the platform comes out of years of internal AI investment and is meant to work more like an extension of advertiser teams rather than just a standalone automation tool.
Rakuten Advertising also plans to expand the system further. Future capabilities are expected to include partner recruitment, campaign performance optimization, and reporting across the broader affiliate marketing workflow.
