Tokyo-based startup Monolyst Inc. has secured ¥300 million in seed funding from Coreline Ventures. This will help boost its AI sales platform designed for the manufacturing sector. Launched in April 2025, the platform seeks to digitize old sales workflows. Many still use analog methods, like fax and paper catalogs. Japan’s manufacturing sector faces a challenge. Labor productivity has dropped from first in the world in 2000 to 18th in 2021. The sector is facing a big labor shortage. By 2040, it could reach 11 million workers.
