Ares Management Corporation has announced the final close of its inaugural data center investment fund, Japan DC Partners I LP (JDC I), securing nearly $2.4 billion (¥350 billion) in equity commitments. The fund marks a significant step into Japan's rapidly expanding digital infrastructure sector, driven by surging demand for AI and cloud services. JDC I will finance the development of three major data centers in the Tokyo area, with a combined capacity of approximately 240 megawatts (MW) of IT load—positioning the region as one of the world’s leading data center hubs. The facilities will be built to high environmental standards, incorporating renewable energy and low-water cooling systems.
