EXA Corporation ～と協力する Toei Kisen Co., Ltd. to begin a demonstration experiment of a “ship maintenance and inspection solution” that aims to automate ship maintenance and inspection operations using drones and AI on Toei Kisen’s ships in November 2026. This solution is the first application area of the “Physical AI Platform” that EXA is developing.

On September 1, 2026, EXA announced the full-scale commencement of development of its “Physical AI Platform,” based on its expertise in the maritime field and the 3D point cloud data processing and digital twin technologies cultivated at JFE Steel’s sites. With this latest collaboration with Toei Kisen, the company will move to the stage of verifying the technologies it has developed so far in an actual ship inspection environment. In this demonstration experiment, the company will incorporate the shipowner’s on-site knowledge to clarify the challenges to practical application and the requirements needed in the field.
